The idea that was presented 17 years ago started with just a 2-mile cross country course for a meet that was held near the boat ramp at Winged Deer Park/Boone Lake - It was a huge success! Brought back for the first time in August of 2024, the Iron Mountains Invitational is BACK for 2025.
Multiple courses to appease all levels of scholastic runners have been designed to highlight the unique topography and breathtaking scenery that Winged Deer Park’s lakefront has to offer. This race will not only be a test of speed and endurance, but an opportunity to share our scenic landscape with the southeastern region’s top athletes.
